| St. Augustine Alligator Farm is located on Anastasia Island less than a mile from
Anastasia State Park. It is a stop on the Florida birding trail. Egrets, wood storks
and tri-colored herons have long nested above the gator ponds at this site. Boardwalks
wind through the rookery, giving an up-close look at adults, chicks and nests. Great
for photographers. Breeding peaks April through July. You can see all twenty-three species of crocodilian including rare white alligators. Gomek, the giant crocodile, has been magnificently taxidermied. There are shows every hour. You can also see reptiles and tiny monkeys. There are over twenty-five endangered animals inhabiting the park. The park offers a snack bar and a gift shop, as well. Delightfully entertaining and educational all year long! |
